Vulnerable Children’s Charities Funding
Funding provided by the Home Office to the South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit is being channelled in to community organisations across South Yorkshire to help with support needs after the coronavirus lockdown.
The funding is being directed to smaller charities and community groups within the county for support to children and young people, to ensure they can resume their activities after the coronavirus pandemic.

Unity Gym Project
To offer an adaptive package of preventive and diverse youth work to engage young people on how to respond to conflict, violent incidents and anti-social behaviour.
Steps to Freedom Programme
The project helped the students gain a greater awareness of consequences of drug use, gangs, bullying, crime and violence.
Love Life UK Outreach
This project helped to improve the physical & mental wellbeing of those who attended both the venue & the online sessions safely.
Dearne and District FC
For football to enable children and young people to participate in sporting activities, helping them thrive and develop resilience.
Sheffield Roma Network
To work with those experiencing domestic violence, assisting people to escape from dangerous situations, and providing advice sessions to people which will hopefully prevent violence as a result.
Thurgoland Village Hall Welfare
To ensure participants understand the risks of drug and alcohol. But, the funding was primarily to cover loss of income due to COVID restrictions as well as making sure the building was COVID secure so when restrictions were eased sessions could be held.
Woodthorpe Youth Club
To provide ongoing support for young people, including handing out activity packs, food hampers, craft packs and selection boxes.
Park Centre Academy
To provide the delivery of two essential food poverty projects for families with children who have low incomes.
Galeed House
To provide craft activities for the children in Darnall, to prevent them from playing on the street.
