Primary prevention, Secondary prevention
Area
Sheffield
Funding amount
£500
Purpose
To work with those experiencing domestic violence, assisting people to escape from dangerous situations, and providing advice sessions to people which will hopefully prevent violence as a result.
Quick summary
The funding helped the centre to purchase PPE materials in order for the centre to open and allow them to carry out street engagement work.
The organisation worked with those experiencing domestic violence and assisting people to escape from dangerous situations. They also undertook advice work with people who have lost their incomes, which helped to reduce stress, and may have prevented violence as a result.
The centre accommodated an average of 20 individuals per day through a mix of advice clients attending appointments and vulnerable families attending the holiday hunger provision during summer.
