Quick summary
The potential causes of mental ill-health are diverse and there is significant similarity in the range of risk factors to those for domestic abuse.
There is a strong association between having mental health problems and being a victim of domestic abuse. Mental ill-health is also a risk factor for abuse perpetration. Therefore addressing mental health needs and preventing mental illness has both a direct and indirect impact on the risk of domestic abuse.
The project will aim to; increase awareness and knowledge of mental health, enable stakeholders to identify difficulties at the earliest stage, empower stakeholders to recognise and respond to difficulties effectively, thereby preventing serious problems. To develop stakeholder wellbeing, resilience, emotional regulation, communication and relational skills and promote a positive mental health culture.
