Purpose

The programme aims to give young people the opportunity to get involved in music, and work with inspiring mentors from the field.

Quick summary

The programme aims to teach participants more about writing, recording, producing, releasing and performing music, as well as developing time management, planning and preparation skills.


With the support of the venue and outreach team at The Leadmill and the Sheffield Music Hub, the Sheffield Music School aim to empower young people aged 9-25 to participate in music education, and work with inspiring mentors to provide opportunities relevant to their interests.

Working closely with industry professionals, the programme aims to give young people the creative tools they need, while learning invaluable skills which may equip them to access the music industry, reengage with their school, or aspire to further their formal education.
