Quick summary

This is a programme of intervention for young people involved in, or at risk of becoming involved in, criminal activities.

This is a programme of intervention for young people involved in, or at risk of becoming involved in, criminal activities. They operate a gym called Olympia Fitness in Burngreave, one of the most diverse and economically deprived areas of Sheffield.

They provide young people with free access to their gym, and engage them in a programme that involves health and fitness, bodybuilding, boxing, sports, mindfulness, self-reflection, self-confidence, motivation, resilience, respect for their self and others, motivational talks from reformed offenders, and understanding employment/entrepreneurship and the power of their transferable skills.

The purpose of this project is to encourage a change of mindset amongst some of the hardest to reach young people through sport, fitness, and peer mentorship, via adults reformed from criminal activities. The logic of the scheme is to change attitudes which in turn will act as a springboard towards more positive behaviours and life choices.
