The aim of the programme is to offer employment and opportunities in the form of work at the Millmoor Club Cafe for young people aged 16-25 years old, in partnership with Memo Fitness.

Millmoor is a well established football club, based in Kimberworth since 2002. The facilities include five football pitches of various sizes, a café, an outdoor seating area, a children’s playground, and a number of changing rooms and toilets. It is home to a large number of boys’ and girls’ football teams, along with senior teams.

The initiative provides a Project Manager who is a mentor to the young people, acting as a positive role model for those employed; offering them help with applications for courses and qualifications; and providing a safe space with support to complete and achieve their goals.

Being part of the Milmoor Club provides the young people with work experience and life skills, as well as the support to access whatever career path it is they choose, whether that is in the café or catering, or more related to the football environment. The club itself also brings wider opportunities to meet new people from different walks of life, which may open doors into fields such as coaching, ground-keeping, or building and structural work.
