This project aims to promote gender equality and reduce Violence Against Women and Girls in the S20 area of Sheffield, covering Beighton and Mosborough.
A range of activities will be delivered to care for, empower, support, influence, and educate women and girls, as well as changing the cultural and social attitudes of all genders, which contribute to Violence Against Women and Girls.
The activities will be delivered in partnership with other local organisations, including Moss Way Police Station; S20 Sheffield; Shelter; Roundabout, a charity working with vulnerable young people at risk of homelessness; and the Amber Project, the safeguarding partnership in Sheffield.
This project hopes to prevent women and girls from being victims of abuse, both online and offline, so that women and girls can feel safer in the S20 area, bringing about real and long-term change for the whole community.
The programme further hopes to build confidence and resilience for victims of crime, and give victims and potential victims a chance of an alternative life which doesn’t include violence.
