Purpose

To change the attitudes of young people who are displaying aggressive and negative behaviour that may in future lead to domestic violence, criminality and negative relationships.

Quick summary

The funding will help to contribute to an overall reduction of violent crime and a better understanding of healthy and positive relationships of young people 11-16 years in Sheffield.


In2Change will offer a course to young people who already attend, to partake in alternative education, all of whom are already involved in or at high risk of violent behaviour. This will be conducted through weekly timetabled group and 1:1 sessions over a four month period.

After this, the young people will take part in the delivery of interactive workshops targeting primary prevention in schools. The interactive workshops are designed by those who have suffered domestic abuse in the past and those who have committed violent crimes or suffered at the hands of an abuser.

The aim of changing the attitudes of young people who are displaying aggressive and negative behaviour that may well lead to future domestic violence, criminality, and negative relationships will lead to an overall result of; a reduction in violent crime and a better understanding of healthy and positive relationships of young people aged 11-16 years in Sheffield.
