Purpose
To change the attitudes of young people aged 11-16 years across South Yorkshire, steering them away from future violence and criminality and supporting those who are experiencing domestic abuse.
Quick summary
In2Change will offer a course to young people through weekly groups and 1:1 sessions to educate them on what constitutes domestic abuse and sexual harassment, how to spot the signs of abuse/harassment and who to turn to for help if they or someone they know is a victim of domestic abuse.
Using a trauma informed approach, In2Change will raise awareness and educate young people, encouraging safe, nurturing and stable relationships between young people and their peers, parents/carers.
After this their young people will take part in the delivery of interactive workshops targeting Primary Prevention in schools. The overall outcome will be a reduction of violent crime and domestic abuse and better understanding of healthy and positive relationships.
In2Change will also work with HMPs to involve prisoners in delivering some of the sessions for young people to show direct experience. This will support the effective rehabilitation of prisoners.
