Purpose
CCTV at HMP Lindholme resulting in a reduction in reported crime to the South Yorkshire Prison Policing Team
Quick summary
The funding has helped to install CCTV cameras in the blind-spots of the accommodation to monitor inmates in every corner of the premises which has resulted in a reduction of reported crimes to the South Yorkshire Prison Policing Team.
The spur accommodation had numerous blind spots where illicit activities could take place un-noticed which encouraged criminal activities and bullying. The funding has enabled CCTV cameras to be deployed allowing staff to monitor prisoners more easily. The footage can also be used as evidence in any investigation. Since the cameras have been installed there has been a reduction in reported crime to the South Yorkshire Prison Policing Team
