Quick summary
The Violence Reduction funding has helped the Junior Citizens project to organise Be Beautiful, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Family Circuit Training sessions aiming to bring about positive attitudinal change in young people engaged in activities involving drugs and organised crime groups.
The sessions delivered with the help of the Violence Reduction Unit funding are Be Beautiful (aimed at promoting healthy body image, self-confidence and positive skin care), Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Family Circuit Training.
46 young people have attended the sessions
The funding for the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) has enabled one young person to be trained well enough to participate in a European Competition held in Manchester and win a silver medal.
