Quick summary
The aim of the programme is to utilise a Community Engagement Officer to deliver fun sessions, which will bring families together in a safe space.
Predominantly targeting those in Edlington and Warmsworth, but welcoming surrounding communities within Doncaster, the Community First programme provides sessions for families from Yorkshire Main Community Centre, which is a community hub in the heart of the Royal Estate in Edlington.
The Edlington Community Organisation’s Community Engagement Officer will deliver fun sessions, both during school hours and out of school hours, which will bring families together in a safe space, enabling them to play and build positive memories and stable relationships. The initiative also aims to increase community cohesion.
Additionally, people will be encouraged to access the other services that the Edlington Community Organisation delivers, to offer a community “HUG” (help, understanding and guidance), creating a wrap-around network of support.

The Family Works
The aim of this project is to increase capacity for trauma-informed support in schools and homes. This is an identified need of the children and young people in the families who access their organisation.
