Primary prevention
Area
Sheffield
Funding amount
£3,500
Purpose
To understand the risks of drug and alcohol consumption and to educate the young people on the appropriate language to deal with formal situations and friendships.
Quick summary
The funding covered the loss of income due to COVID-19 restrictions as well as ensuring the building was COVID secure so when restrictions eased sessions could be held.
Four sessions took place per week each lasting 2.5 hours. Only 15 young people were allowed to attend each session due to COVID restriction, attendees were aged 8-18 years, of all genders.
Tools were provided for the young people to manage the challenging and emotional situations created by the COVID restrictions. The interventions will have a positive impact on the young people and provide them with the tools they need to progress into adulthood.
