Purpose
To bridge the Gap with positive activities and projects, while fostered children cannot attend weekly youth clubs due to Covid-19 restrictions.to offer positive fun activities and projects to distract from leaving the home except for exercise.

Doncaster Foster Carers Association aim to offer positive fun activities and projects to support children during lockdown when they are unable to leave the home except for exercise. Doncaster Foster Carers Association have planned many activities that can be done in the home environment on Zoom or projects where they send photos of evidence of their achievements including:
1/Creative Arts / Crafts and media
Promoting the various forms of art and craft
2/Come Dine with Me / Ingredients will be provided for cooking.
Young people will become creative with building recipes and menus to prepare and cook cultural meals, with fresh produce.
3/ Photography and canvasses
A photographic project will take place over a number of weeks with the best images the children and young people produce being printed on a canvass for them.
4/The Natural World
This will be a project looking at our carbon footprints and how young people can support the natural environment they live in, using woodwork by making bird boxes, hedgehog homes, bird tables.
5/ our GROW IT Project
Will introduce the children and young people into planting veg gardens and flower beds, and to look at plants that produce fruits. The young people will produce Spring garden baskets and Pots.
6/ Diamond Art
For mindfulness and well-being, supporting mental health
7/ This is Me
Will look at individual interests of children and young people and Doncaster Foster Carers Association will provide and support these children and young people to SHINE in whatever they wish to explore, with materials and resources.
8/ Skills Sharing
This will support young people with Life Skills

The aim of this project is to increase capacity for trauma-informed support in schools and homes. This is an identified need of the children and young people in the families who access their organisation.
Young Women’s Housing Project
The purpose of this initiative is to identify at risk women and girls aged 10-19, and deliver specialist support/interventions which address their relationships with peers, intimate partners, dependent children, and parents.
