Dinnington Community boxing Group is an organisation dedicated to improving the mental and physical wellbeing of communities through their tailored boxing and fitness sessions.
They aim to improve the lives of young people who are being left behind, those who are not given any opportunities, and those who feel excluded from their communities, through the sport of boxing, in a safe environment with qualified coaches.
They currently run sessions in three schools, three community centres, and two gyms across Rotherham, running non-contact boxing-based sessions for young people between 6 and 16, with the aim of improving physical and mental wellbeing.
The project aims to support young people through their Talk n Train programme. This offers free boxing and fitness sessions, referred through schools and GP practices, as well as building support and self-confidence, and links to professional counsellors and organisations.
