The grant to BSARCS enables them to increase their capacity, employing an additional full-time equivalent Wellbeing Worker to ensure that children have to wait less than two months to access effective, timely support.
The aim is to limit the significant and harmful impacts of sexual harm in the lives of the most vulnerable children.
By offering timely therapeutic initiatives children will no longer need to use poor coping behaviours such as drugs or alcohol and will no longer suffer the effects of abuse in later life, such as mental ill health, suicide attempts, domestic violence (perpetrator or victim) and prison.
