The funding has been provided to maintain their existing provision of therapeutic wellbeing support to the most vulnerable children in need of their service.

The funding has been provided to maintain their existing provision of therapeutic wellbeing support to the most vulnerable children in need of their service.

Therapeutic wellbeing support is an existing provision for them, offered to children and young people whose personal circumstances and/or their trauma responses mean that they are not in a stable enough position to process their trauma through specialist therapy.

The specialist wellbeing worker provides support which enables the child to recognise, understand, and regulate their emotional and behavioural trauma responses.

For some children, this safety and stabilisation work is essential in them being able to access and engage with deeper trauma processing through specialist therapies.  For others, the work is in itself effective in enabling them to cope and recover from their experience.
