The South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) has visited Sheffield Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (SRASAC).

The VRU has provided funding to SRASAC through its Violence Against Women and Girls Reduction Fund.

SRASAC is using this funding to try to reach underrepresented and diverse communities who may be affected by rape or sexual abuse.

The VRU visited SRASAC to meet with staff, discuss their work, and chat about next steps in their programme.

Graham Jones, Head of the South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit said: “Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls is a priority for the Violence Reduction Unit, working with partner organisations and communities across South Yorkshire.

“Our Violence Against Women and Girls Reduction Fund allows us to support organisations such as SRASAC who are working to tackle this issue on the ground.

“I’m pleased that the VRU could visit their base to chat through their work in more detail.”
