The South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) has supported a Rotherham event held to showcase the wide range of services available within the borough to support victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse.

The event, held at the New York Stadium, saw a range of providers and organisations running stalls, and sharing information on the work they are doing to tackle domestic abuse and support survivors.

The VRU had a stall at the event, with members of the team speaking to event attendees about the work they are doing to prevent and reduce violence across South Yorkshire.

Graham Jones, Head of the South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit said: “Tackling domestic abuse and working to ensure that survivors can access the support they need is one of the VRU’s priorities.

“We recognise that this can only be achieved by working in partnership with organisations across South Yorkshire.

“I’m pleased that the VRU could support this event, to develop our relationships with partners, and strengthen our understanding of the work taking place in Rotherham.”
