The South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) has supported a Night Time Economy Awareness and Training Event in Doncaster.
This brought together venue staff and proprietors, along with officers from South Yorkshire Police, and representatives from Doncaster Council, the SIA, and the VRU.
During the Event, a number of presentations were delivered to attendees, along with discussion of the changing nature of the Night Time Economy, and the ways different partners can work together to keep people safe on a night out.
The Doncaster meeting, held at The Eco-Power Stadium, follows similar gatherings in Barnsley and Rotherham.
Graham Jones, Head of the South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit said: “At the Violence Reduction Unit, our aim is to prevent and reduce violence of all kinds and in all settings, by working with stakeholders and communities across South Yorkshire.
“As bars and clubs have now fully reopened after COVID-19 restrictions, it has never been more important to develop a co-ordinated approach to the Night Time Economy.
“Events such as this in Doncaster, and previous events in Barnsley and Rotherham, are an important means of bringing different partner organisations together, to share best practice, discuss ongoing challenges, and look at ways we can work together more closely.”
