The South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) has supported the Barnsley Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Services (BSARCS) open day.
The open day, held on 10th May, saw people invited to BSARCS headquarters in Barnsley from 10am-2pm.
This provided an opportunity to meet with BSARCS staff, have a tour of the organisation’s facilities, and chat about the work they are doing to support people who have experienced sexual or domestic abuse.
The VRU attended to support the open day, and the Unit’s Head, Graham Jones, has praised BSARCS for the important work they do.
Graham Jones, Head of the South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit said: “I’m pleased that the VRU was able to visit BSARCS and gain a greater insight into the important work they do.
“Tackling domestic and sexual abuse is a priority for the Violence Reduction Unit, as part of our ambition to prevent and reduce violence in South Yorkshire.
“Services such as BSARCS are vital partners in this work, providing a safe space and the dedicated, specialist support victims need.”
