Violence Reduction Fund
The violence reduction fund allows us to award funding to community based projects which play an important role in the fight to reduce crime.
Community groups from Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield have all been successful in the first round of the South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Fund, with some covering the whole of South Yorkshire.

Cathedral Archer Project
This project provides support to vulnerable men and women with a history of violent behaviour, either as a perpetrator or a victim, criminality and those who are transitioning from prison into the workplace to enable their lives to become positively transformed.
Unity Gym Project
The Unity Gym project provided intensive support to nine young people to raise awareness about grooming, exploitation, violence and its consequences.
Sheffield City Council Outreach Van
The VRU funding enabled Sheffield City Council to purchase of a van to deliver outreach interventions into communities or individuals involved in substance misuse, public drug and alcohol use activity. A dedicated contact number to report issues requiring quick response is also provided.
Reach South Sheffield
The project wants to strengthen resilience and change attitudes towards violence.
Sheffield City Council Victims of Violent Crime Target Hardening
This initiative aims at providing rapid response to victims of violence, resulting in a reduction of harm to the victim and providing them with support to remain in their home.
Chaucer School
73 students supported who were at risk of criminal exploitation, on the periphery or involvement in gang organisations and/or at risk of further fixed term exclusion or permanent exclusion
Sheffield Futures
A pilot scheme tasking professional youth workers to help prevent vulnerable young people from going missing is underway in Sheffield.
Haven and IDAS
The South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit is funding a schools based initiative that aims to tackle domestic abuse across Barnsley and Sheffield.
Big Brother Burngreave
Big Brother Burngreave in Sheffield have received funding from the South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit to provide a mentoring scheme aimed at supporting young people aged between 12 to 20-years old.
