Violence Reduction Fund
The violence reduction fund allows us to award funding to community based projects which play an important role in the fight to reduce crime.
Community groups from Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield have all been successful in the first round of the South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Fund, with some covering the whole of South Yorkshire.

Springwell Academy
This project offered targeted support to young people linked to both Child Criminal Exploitation and violence, aiming to help them learn from their behaviours, address them and successfully return to learning.
Forest School Outdoor Activities by Naturewood
Naturewood Project, through ivarious fun activities helped children develop resilience, self-esteem, etc. and therefore resulting in an overall improvement. The project supported 13 children, aged from 6-15 years that had been identified by Social workers, Family Support workers or Schools as being at risk of being excluded from school for anti-social behaviour.
Barnsley Trading Standards
Barnsley Trading Standards successfully utilised the funding to identify and apprehend illegal tobacco products from hitting the streets in South Yorkshire.

Haven and IDAS
The South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit is funding a schools based initiative that aims to tackle domestic abuse across Barnsley and Sheffield.

The Exodus Project
The Exodus Project have been awarded funding from the South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit to open two new clubs in Barnsley to work with young people to steer them away from destructive lifestyle choices.

Greenacre School
Greenacre School has received £20,000 funding from the South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit to fund a full-time a higher-level teaching assistant to work with pupils who are at risk of displaying violence.
