The South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) has supported the Barnsley Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Services (BSARCS) open day.
The open day was held on 18th October, with professionals, support agencies, and other stakeholders invited to BSARCS’ building in Barnsley to meet with staff and see the organisation’s facilities.
The VRU has provided grant funding for BSARCS through both its Violence Reduction Fund and Violence Against Women and Girls Reduction Fund.
Graham Jones, Head of the South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit said: “Services such as BSARCS are vitally important in providing support networks, therapy, and counselling for those who have sadly faced sexual or domestic abuse, and all the trauma which goes with those experiences.
“I’m pleased that the VRU has been able to provide funding to BSARCS through our grant rounds. Their open day was a good opportunity for the VRU and other organisations to meet with their staff, and for them to showcase the work they are doing.”
